I'd been looking forward to watching the Royal Opera House production of Don Giovanni that was shown on BBC4 last night and my eager anticipation was fulfilled. The set must be a marvel to see on stage and as for the Don himself, well, I think I'm in love! Just give it a try, THIS clip is only 1.25 minutes

I told myself I would have to just go with the flow this week, and probably next week as well. It is working and I'm quite enjoying myself!

With the "men" here I can't really do anything in my room so I decided to make a start on the garage. Progress was made, more today.

It isn't often that I cook a roast dinner so it tends to be a bit stressful when I do. However, yesterday I did roast lamb with roast potatoes parsnips and carrots, homemade mint sauce, and gravy (for me and mum) and it was all ready on time and tasted fab.
With apologies to the vegetarians among you.

The greatest blessing in my life:-
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

I had a very restful evening, listening to an audio book and playing with one of the art apps on my iPad. I came up with this picture of what I hope my apple tree will look like in a few years time.

Things that bring an unexpected smile to your face are always welcome. To me this is an owl sitting on the shadow of a branch of a tree.

Hubby had an appointment at the hospital yesterday. We drove round the car park twice looking for a disabled parking space (it's not just about being near the path but about being able to open the car door wide) but time was getting on so I went round to the entrance to drop him off and Lo and Behold, one of the few that are there was empty. Afterwards we went to Sainsbury and Lo and Behold once more, there was a free space just where we like it.

Generally I do not like pigeons unless they are in a pie or casserole, and I do get a bit cross when they start eating the blossoms off the cherry tree but this morning one entertained me by trying to get to the flowers at then end of thin branches that couldn't take its weight. Unfortunately, by the time I got the camera it had given up

I was struck by a terrible chill yesterday morning. The heating hadn't come on. Hubby feels the cold badly so it was an emergency. Thermostat had clicked so it wasn't that. Timer was blank, no time, no lights. Aaargh.
The airing cupboard was cold. Double aaarrrggghhhhh. But then, out of the cold and chilly blue a bright idea. YES! The ironing board had fallen against the isolation switch and knocked it off. Click, lights, pump action, gurgling of pipes. Thank you Lord.

When mum is here have to go up and down the stairs a lot, and yesterday they seemed to just get steeper and steeper. So when I went to bed last night, my blessing was that I wouldn't have to climb the stairs again until the morning!

I took mum to the new swanky medical centre yesterday. She was worried because her usual GP has retired. But she liked the one we saw and that was not only a blessing but a relief!

I had a call from the garage a couple of weeks ago, reminding me that I needed to get my tyres checked as there was a note about them when I had my MOT. They offered to do it free! And they don't need replacing yet! Happy bunny.

Lord, I have given up my pride, and turned away from my arrogance. I am not concerned with great matters or with subjects too difficult for me. Instead, I am content and at peace. As a child lies quietly in its mother's arms, so my heart is quiet within me. Israel, trust in the Lord now and for ever. ( Psalm 131 GNB)
This is my favourite Psalm. I'm getting there!
