May I combine a rant with a blessing? Yes? Oh thank you x
I got very stressed yesterday, not least because my husband has bought himself an iPad and needed me to help him with it when I really did have other things to do. I had a fibro flare up and went to bed, in some pain, at 7.30 last night.
The blessing is that I sat quietly on my own with it this morning and got it sorted

I feel I have wandered off into too trivial territory, and there are some great things that are worth celebrating more than once.  My GP surgery is one of them.  I am pretty sure I have mentioned them before and there's no special reason for mentioning them again today but they are efficient and helpful and you can almost always get an appointment within a day if you don't specify who you want to see.

This is a picture I did in water colour, free hand copying from a picture postcard when I was 16.  It is evening. The blessing is that it is not late evening and when I came up to the PC to do this I saw that I had stripped the bed and not made it again. Doing it next!

Thursday, 28 August 2014

I usually struggle to get to sleep, however early or late I go to bed, but for some reason. I put the light out at 10.00 last night and slept through to the alarm at 7.00 RESULT!  And a lovely day to look forward to as friend coming to visit.

The time we have is a blessing. Don't waste too much planning for the future and forgetting to live in the present because we don't know where we might be tomorrow

Tuesday, 26 August 2014

After a tiring day with mum yesterday I have done practically nothing all day today but I am learning not to mind!

Monday, 25 August 2014

The blessing of a Bank Holiday was no traffic on the A14 as I wended my way motherwards this morning!

Sunday, 24 August 2014

Yesterday I spent some time reading and a bit of time tidying and quite a lot of time not doing much of anything.  I am so grateful for the fact that my lovely hubby understands that I have to have days like that.  If you missed yesterday's post then that's because I didn't do it until this morning, it's underneath this one
Oops, sorry, but this is the first time I have missed the day completely, at least I think it is. Don't know what happened, but the blessing is that it doesn't matter

A Bank Holiday weekend is a great blessing to many people but it also means that everywhere is extra crowded so there may be compromises that have to be made. My blessing is that I can go out and do stuff any day of the week, any week of the year. There's a compromise there too, of course because I don't get that special holiday feeling but I can accept that 😉

What is this life, if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.
I am blessed with the spare time to go for a walk and look at my surroundings.  I take photos sometimes. I love the angles and planes in this one.

Wednesday, 20 August 2014

I love meeting new people. I met a very interesting lady yesterday.  The blessing was that she thought I was interesting too!

Tuesday, 19 August 2014

I need to sort out some new pictures for when I am posting from my iPad. I used this one again because *drum roll* I have sent in the application for mum to get a blue badge!!!!!  This is a blessing because I found the concentration to do it and if she gets one it will be a blessing for both of us.

Monday, 18 August 2014

I am feeling enthusiastic about the next few days as I am planning on a bit of multi-tasking. Having enthusiasm is a blessing. I'll let you know if any energy turned up to keep it company!

Sunday, 17 August 2014

I find it very interesting how some blessings come in a rather convoluted fashion.  I have found more than once that chance conversations have brought me to understanding something in my own life, or that, when trying to offer advice I find God has given me words which were unexpected and which, on reflection, we're help to me as well.

Saturday, 16 August 2014

It's always lovely to see members of the family and close friends.  I've done well this week, with visits on Wednesday (OH's family) and today (my family and friend)  Got a trifle nostalgic, for that and other reasons too.  Good memories are a blessing

Friday, 15 August 2014

The time for starting to pick blackberries is now here and the weather has cooled down enough for me to do it.
(And if you are my visitor from Finland, please do introduce yourself )

Thursday, 14 August 2014

This is one of my Polyvore montages.  Yesterday we had guests for tea so I got out the best china and my lovely Indian tea trolley and there was cake, and they brought cake too.  And we took their dog for quite a long walk along the path called Longstrops. And we really did have a lovely time.

This photo was taken about 5 years ago at Sutton Hoo, when mum could still totter along with her wheels.  She has given permission to tell you this story.  She had a hospital appointment yesterday and when it was over I had to go and get the car, so I left her in the reception area, parked alongside a lie of chairs.  When I got back I saw a friend who came to say a few words.  Then mum said,"When are you going to get the wheelchair"  "What wheelchair" I said. "The one to take me out to the car" she said.  My friend and I looked at her. "Oh, I'm sitting in it aren't I" she said.  Oh we did larf.  And that's the blessing, that mum and I do still have lots of laughs!

Tuesday, 12 August 2014

It's been a funny old day, it ended up being very stressful, and we have guests tomorrow. The blessing? When I got home hubby had cleaned the kitchen floor and after dinner he did the washing up, without being asked. I was very grateful because I was cream crackered!

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

I hope I am getting better at seeing things from more than one point of view

Saturday, 9 August 2014

I'm giving another cheer for the NHS today.  I don't know where hubby and I would be without cheap medicines. I started looking up how much they really cost and it was quite a shock!
An expanse of empty grass , which represents my brain yesterday. Sorry, will try harder!

Thursday, 7 August 2014

I'm afraid today's blessing is simply that the thumping great headache that I have had today, for no good (or bad) reason, is finally beginning to lift

Wednesday, 6 August 2014

There's nothing quite like eating an apple from your own tree!

Tuesday, 5 August 2014

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I woke up this morning feeling enthusiastic about really REALLY getting on with the tidying and sorting and de-cluttering that will enable us to get the men in to rearrange the furniture. And to seriously do something about making Christmas cards to sell in support of our local hospital's cancer unit and to re read my novel and get it on Kindle. PHEW! Wish me luck.

Blogger is not co-operating tonight so I am having to leave this in the layout that is being imposed on me.  Below, I hope, is a photo of my maternal grandfather, in India during the Great War. He also saw action at Gallipoli and went over the top at The Somme.  I am grateful that I was able to talk to him about his early life and keep a record of what we discussed.  He was very fortunate.

Yes, you're right, I was having such a super time yesterday that I forgot to post anything.  Back later xx

Saturday, 2 August 2014

I am blessed with lovely friends who know me well enough to trust that me that dinner will be properly cooked and unlikely to cause illness, even if the kitchen is a bit of a mess, and the rest of the house for that matter.

Friday, 1 August 2014

Today I shall be mostly recovering from yesterday.  And I am going to try and get Picassa working so I am not so limited on the pics I can put here when I am using the iPad. And I might do a bit of crafting.  I am so grateful to my lovely hubby that he understands my need to rest and is very sympathetic
