I was struck by a terrible chill yesterday morning.  The heating hadn't come on. Hubby feels the cold badly so it was an emergency. Thermostat had clicked so it wasn't that.  Timer was blank, no time, no lights. Aaargh.
The airing cupboard was cold.  Double aaarrrggghhhhh.  But then, out of the cold and chilly blue a bright idea.  YES!  The ironing board had fallen against the isolation switch and knocked it off.  Click, lights, pump action, gurgling of pipes.  Thank you Lord.

When mum  is here  have to go up and down the stairs a lot, and yesterday they seemed to just get steeper and steeper. So when I went to bed last night, my blessing was that I wouldn't have to climb the stairs again until the morning!

I have one of those things that you put sheep's wool in for the birds to use when they are nesting and I have watched two blue tits taking it and then diving straight into a bush in the garden.

I took mum to the new swanky medical centre yesterday.  She was worried because her usual GP has retired.  But she liked the one we saw and that was not only a blessing but a relief!

I had a call from the garage a couple of weeks ago, reminding me that I needed to get my tyres checked as there was a note about them when I had my MOT.  They offered to do it free! And they don't need replacing yet!  Happy bunny.

I walked up the road to the post box at lunchtime and it felt like summer - no jacket or cardi and by the time I got back I wished I'd worn a hat.  Then OH and me sat outside with our afternoon tea.

Lord, I have given up my pride, and turned away from my arrogance.  I am not concerned with great matters or with subjects too difficult for me.  Instead, I am content and at peace.  As a child lies quietly in its mother's arms, so my heart is quiet within me.  Israel, trust in the Lord now and for ever. ( Psalm 131 GNB)

This is my favourite Psalm.  I'm getting there!
